Chapter 42

Alexa’s POV

Cameron walks to his closet, gets his shoes and clothing out, and puts them on. I usually like seeing him in a suit, but this time is different as he's become someone much more significant to me. I can't wait to tell my sisters, who had been anticipating this moment. They would be ecstatic to hear this, Brenda most particularly. I'll have to wait until after he leaves. 

Once dressed, he appears like the ideal eligible bachelor with his royal blue tie, white shirt beneath his suit, and shiny black shoes. He comes up to the bed where I'm lying there holding a phone and places a kiss on my forehead. 

His tone, emotive, suggests that he has been thinking back to this comment from three years ago. "I genuinely love you so much!" I just look forward to what we have now and nothing else; the life we will have is my sole interest and I want it to be so perfect. I felt very deceived but all that is gone now.
