Chapter 85. Digging for Answers

Audrey’s POV

My phone slipped from my hand in shock when I heard her question. How did she find out about the message? Only Owen, Nolan, and I knew about it. Did one of them tell her about it? But who? They never liked to talk about the past with anyone. Not even with me.

"What message?" I asked calmly, picking up my phone from the floor.

"I think you know better than anyone what message I’m talking about," she replied.

"Look, I don’t have time for your nonsense right now. I have other things that need my attention," I said, turning around to walk away.

"I’m talking about your childhood friends here. Shouldn’t you be more curious than I am? Why are you getting so defensive? almost as if you know more than what I’m asking you," she remarked. I turned towards her.

"What are you implying?" I asked folding my arms in front of me.

"I’m not implying anything. All I asked was a clear que
