Owen’s POV
I got back home after dropping Genevieve off. I could see how dejected she was after Nolan’s mum passed away. I was too, I knew his mum for years and she had always treated me like a son. It was sad that things had to end this way.
"Owen," dad called. I glanced towards the mini bar and I saw him sitting there with a glass in front of him.
"Good afternoon Dad," I greeted politely, walking towards him and taking a seat beside him.
"Afternoon son. You must be coming from the hospital?" he inquired. I glanced at him in surprise.
"How did you know that? Did Nolan’s dad call you?" I asked.
"He did but aside from that, I can perceive the distinct scent of disinfectant on you," he replied. How could I forget how observant he is?
"If Nolan’s dad called you, you must have heard the news," I muttered. He grabbed his glass and gulped down the entire content.
