LILY'S POV

I was completely unaware of the extent of the danger I was in, despite the car exploding and the intense car chase that led me to hide inside a booth. I hesitated to accept that it was all centered around me.

Upon the arrival of Luciano, it became clear that I wasn't Ruslan's primary target; Adler was. However, I realized that I was the key to reaching Adler. In order to involve him in Ruslan's power play, I had to go.

I shuddered for the hundredth time in the space of hours. The pain sting on my cuticles reminding me that old habits die hard.
