Chapter 45. Striker

Ruth’s relationship with her mother didn’t go well but she still meant well for her mother. She was heartbroken hearing her mother was killed by Gallo and now her late father’s long-time enemy has declared his interest in her father’s barony.

“I won’t let Baron Absalom take what’s left of my family. Prepare the horses, we are going back to Wizithon.”

The first scout who delivered the message to Ruth took a slight bow before her. “Alright my Lady.”

The plans of Scott have been turned upside down with this message and Scott isn’t happy. His priority is to go back home especially now an ancient witch has turned against him. He moved towards Ruth. She can see the sad look on his face. “What about Neena?”

Ruth gently grabbed Scott’s hand and stared deep into his eyes. She knew how badly he wants to be away from No Man’s Land. She clears her throat and then opens up to speak. “Forgive me, my love. We can still get to Neena if I get back what belongs to my family.”<
