Chapter 64. Mayhem

The general ignored Scott and walked out on him. He was mindful of the king’s wrath because he knows what the king is capable of doing when it comes to betraying him. He doesn’t want to lose his life or anyone from his family for the sake of Scott.

“Don’t expect any help from him,” said a voice from the dungeon wall.

As Scott looked towards the direction where he believed the voice came from, he saw the old man walking out from the wall.

“Hello the chosen one!” said the old man as he smiled down on Scott. He was bearing a golden staff with two eagle wings affixed at the top edge of the staff. “Finding the book of shadows is a priority not saving the king who has proven he can never be grateful.”

“Leave me to worry about that.” Scott moves closer to the old man. He cast a searing gaze at him. “Why are you here?” he asked.

“I know you can easily free yourself from this dungeon but you chose to act in total reverence to the king who doesn’t care.”
