Chapter 7
I stepped out of the diner, Julius by my side. As soon as we hit the sidewalk, a figure loomed in front of us. It was James McAllister, a man whose name had been on my radar for a while. He was a wealthy businessman with a reputation for shady deals and connections to organized crime.
McAllister was dressed impeccably in a tailored suit and expensive shoes. His hair was slicked back. He had a commanding presence, but it was his eyes that caught my attention. They were a piercing blue and seemed to hold secrets and hidden motives.
“Nick, Julius,” McAllister greeted us with a nod. “I believe we have some business to discuss.”
I knew what he was referring to. He wanted to buy guns from us, and I had been considering the offer. But it wasn’t a decision to take lightly. There were risks involved, both legal and personal.
We followed him to his sleek black car parked at the side of the street. Julius took the passenger seat while I sat in the back with McAllister.
