Chapter 6

I couldn’t believe what I had just done. Kissing Sasha was an act of betrayal to Rose, the woman I had sworn to love and protect. Yet, my heart was conflicted, torn between my love for Rose and the intense feelings I had for Sasha. As I walked out of the garden, the guilt gnawed at me, and I wondered how I could ever face Rose.

The two women would fight each other if not for the intervention of Julius and I. Rose had stormed out, and I had as well, leaving Julius and Sasha behind.

I took a deep breath and entered our shared apartment, hoping to find Rose waiting for me. Instead, I found a note on the kitchen counter. My heart sank as I read her words: “What you did is devastating. We need to talk.” The note was short, but the message was clear. I had hurt Rose, and I needed to make things right.

I sat at the kitchen table, waiting for Rose to return. The silence was deafening, and my mind was racing with thoughts of how I would explain myself. When Rose finally wal
