Chapter 112. Recovering
Time went by and Winona never counted how long she had been in the sea. Now she had been accepted by the mermaid family. She quickly learned how to find food and how to live as a mermaid. Now Winona knew that the legends about them that had been circulating all this time were wrong.
Mermaids were not evil creatures who often tricked fishermen and ate them. However, they were also not kind creatures who liked to help fishermen who were hit by a storm. Maybe thousands of years ago this happened, but now mermaids only lived on the ocean floor and rarely came to the surface. They rarely even met other creatures in the sea. Except on full moon nights, they would come to the surface to bathe in moonlight. They did it only once a year in the middle of the year during the summer.
