With Margaret's birthday coming up, Adams saw less of Topaz. It had been one week since their argument and none of them had picked up the courage to reconcile with each other. Adams even woke up on an empty bed sometimes. The times he tried to talk to her, she either claimed she was busy or made herself scarce. He knew he was in the wrong for reminding her about their contract when they specifically agreed not to bring it up and let things flow but she wasn't without fault too. He told her to stop seeing that boy and she refused, what impression did she want him to have?
