Chapter 39

The weekend passed by so quickly but Topaz was still hung on the birthday celebration. They'd gotten back home on Sunday after brunch and they couldn't stop laughing at what happened during brunch.

After the Thanksgiving mass they celebrated in church, the family moved back to the mansion where brunch was being prepared. The women aided the maids to set the food on the table outside the garden and the boys, well they just helped at being lazy as usual. Topaz had never felt this love from a family before, when she was adopted, they didn't have a big family like this one and she was lucky to have met such people who cherish her.

" You shouldn't be doing any form of work Topaz dear." Grandma Ruby told her.

" I'm fine grandma," she lied. The truth was her feet were swollen from yesterday's dancing and running up and down. Adams had massaged it before they went to bed after the party but it still was painful.
