Chapter 299. A Core Memory

I woke up in a room that smelled weird but in a good way. I don’t know how to explain it but I’m just going to say that the place smelled clean. 

When my eyes fluttered open and my vision cleared, I looked around and saw that Darco was not far from me. He was sitting on a couch and seemed to be asleep. He looked so tired and peaceful so I did not want to wake him. 

But when the doctor walked into the room, he woke up due to the sound. “Oh, sorry, sir. I didn’t mean to wake up.” The man chuckled. He was wearing a lapcoat and was clean-shaven. 

He ran his hand through his short brown hair and peeled his eyes off the Dark Alpha before approaching me. “Rue Belmond, it is?” 

I nodded. “Yes, that’s me.” I had some nervousness because one of the reasons I did not want to come to a hospital was that I did not want them to do tests on me and find out that I was not normal.
