Chapter 30. Zach's Ultimatum

The Elders exchanged glances, contemplating Zach’s plea. The room was shrouded in tension, the weight of their decision evident. 

Elder Robert, after a prolonged silence, leaned forward, his gaze unwavering. “Zachery, your personal struggles are noted, but this is not a matter to be taken lightly. We initiated an investigation for a reason, and we cannot simply retract it without substantial evidence or a compelling reason.” 

The Alpha’s shoulders slumped slightly, he was a bit annoyed. “A compelling reason?” 

“Yes, this is not a game, son,” The other Elder spoke, the one that was usually always quiet. 

“You should tell them the truth,” Cassie whispered to the alpha but he shook his head and whispered back, “It would only make things worse. I got this.”

He stepped forward. “A compelling reason would be that I made it all up. Mother Teresa is innocent, I was just looking for a way to make her pay because she made me pay for the omega’s freed
