The moon hung high, silver and sharp, painting the forest in cold light.

Sienna’s chest heaved, body trembling from the chase, from the bite, from the lingering heat that had been gnawing at her since the moment he’d first touched her. Her skin still tingled wherever he had grazed her teeth and lips. Every nerve screamed for more. Every instinct screamed for escape.

But she knew, deep down, there was no running tonight.

He appeared then, stepping silently from the shadow of a tree, his golden eyes molten under the moonlight. Bare-chested, the firelight of his heat glowing even in the cool night air, he moved like a predator who had waited long enough. She felt like the prey and the feeling was one of excitement tinted with anticipation rather than fearful like one would have expected from someone in such a situation.
