Chapter 90. Don't Bow to Him
The bastard watched in silence—I guess he was curious to know what I was up to.
I knelt in front of the guard and said softly,
“Why are you bowing to him?”
My voice was rough and broken from crying.
“Come on, he’s not even a man compared to you. You’ve got the muscle, the strength. He’s only got privilege.”
The bastard scoffed, a hollow sound.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
His tone was icy, like a bored executioner.
I ignored him, staring only at the guard.
My fingers traced the blood at the edge of his split lip, smearing it down his jaw.
He flinched, eyes wide with a fresh terror, but still kept his head bowed.
“Look at you,” I whispered, my voice low and sultry.
“So strong. You could snap him in half. Yet you kneel before him.”
