Lordan’s POV

The seconds felt like hundreds of years while I waited for a sign, a flicker of life, anything.

His eyes slowly opened, and recognition filled them. I couldn’t contain the rush of emotions that made tears of joy well up in my eyes, and I pulled him into a fierce, relieved hug.
