“Girl, I’ll be damned if this man doesn’t love you already. Just see the gifts…. Oh girl, I say you’ve hit the jackpot with this one.”

Staring mindlessly at the couple art notebook Robert gifted me and the lone tulip flower attached to the wrapped package therein, I didn’t say a word as Nicole went on and on.

Another cryptic note was also attached to the presents, but I wasn’t ready to read it yet.

Instead, I just stared blankly at everything I’d sprawled out on the bed, my hands on my forehead rubbing ceaselessly.

“Aren’t you going to say anything, miss? Damn, look at this. So romantic and sensual. Probably he imagined you both when he bought this. The pictures here are out of this world, and dare I say, the gift is a rather strange one. Robert Clarke is one thoughtful man, though; I must give him his credits.”

“You think?” I mumbled, staring at the picture Nicole showed me, and my eyes glazed over the sensual black-and-white art.
