Isla imagined Leo sprinkling kisses on her. She pictured him mouthing his undying love for her. And then she visualized walking down the aisle with him in a mermaid wedding dress. And cradling their baby.
"Miss Isla," she heard her name.
She snapped out of her daydream. She glanced up and saw it was Paige.
"You asked for a cup of ginger tea, Miss Isla."
"Oh yes, I did."
Paige handed her the cup of tea and left. Isla sipped some of it and moved aimlessly around the room. She gazed at the vintage photos on the wall and the recessed lights in the ceiling. It was hard to deal with the truth that she'd been trying so hard to suppress. The truth that she was still in love with Leo. She chided herself for her daydream. For her longing.
