Chapter 35. Bitterness Served with a Side of Donuts

Jessie coughed and pointed to the door. "It could be Sierra or Bev," she laughed nervously. "I'll go get it." She returned to the door and pushed it open. 

A woman with blond hair stood in front of the door, her gaze falling on Jessie. 

She was slim and stunning, but Jessie had never seen her before. 

Din's friend, most likely even though she was too pretty to be one.

Immediately, Jessie has a negative impression of her.

"You must be Jessie," she said softly with a dangerous smile on her face.

"You know who I am?" Jessie inquired of the woman, who nodded. 

"I've come to see Din Cooper. Is he back from his work?" Jessie opened the door wide enough for Din to see who it was from where he was sitting after the lady asked. Din quickly stood up as she looked across at him. 

As he approached the door, Jessie exited and went to her room. 

"Beth?" Din called the lady's name. He was surprised to se
