Chapter 80. She Was the Reason

"Jessie is awake!" Sierra cried out.

Bev jumped off the sofa as soon as she could and sprinted over to her sister. "Jessie? Can you hear me, Jessie? Do you recognize me?" 

Bev received no reply from Jessie. Instead, Jessie continued to fix her gaze on Din. 

Jessie's hand was still holding onto Din when Bev noticed it. She frowned and gently took Jessie's hand off and placed it on the bed. She gave Din a glance. "Mr. Cooper, my sister doesn't want you here. You should return home." Bev moved away from Din's side and toward Taylor. "I am overjoyed." 

"I know." To dry Bev's tears, Taylor put her hand on her face. She was surprised to see Bev cry. "I will go and get the doctor." 

"I'll be following you." Taylor walked out the door with Bev right behind her. 

Din sighed and circled back. Before leaving the room entirely, his eyes briefly met Sierra's. He strolled over to the bench in the hallway and sat down. Then, as he s
