Elise kept an eye on Celine while Leon and Luke discussed something animatedly over their meal. She kept track of her activity and diet, though not as carefully as she had thought she would.

“Mrs. Bridgerton, I finally met you too... Um, you’re not the type of woman I expected Leon to marry,” Elise began, as if insulting Celine. Was it because she wasn’t used to wearing expensive clothes or dealing with the actions of a prominent family?

Celine suspected that Luke’s wife disliked her, but she couldn’t figure out why. But she had to concede it because of Luke’s kindness to her.

She smiled slightly and answered Elise’s question, “Yes, I finally met you as well... Luke won’t tell me much about you ... but you’re beautiful, and you look smart personally,” She replied, with a hint of resistance as well.
