When Leon entered their room, he assumed Celine was not there and kept silent when he saw her blissfully sleeping off. His phone was not on the table when he looked down at it. But that's not what is important. The fact that his wife stayed is what matters. He went back downstairs to go to his office and found his phone in the library.
