Chapter 21

Emma's face showed how tired she felt. Days had passed, and nothing improved for her. It seemed that she was at rock bottom, and the culprit of everything was Sebastian, who had completely disappeared from her life. The length of the leave that her father had invented for her had been spent locked in her room. She barely ate or talked, and her parents weren't happy about it. Emma was always stressed about everything and everyone, and she cried whenever she felt very sad, looking at the sky and remembering him. She had already broken the rule of not looking for him. She texted every morning to the number they had spoken to, but even there, Sebastian was gone.

When the new Monday arrived, Emma got ready to go back to the university. She wasn't happy, of course. She had a lot of overdue coursework, and it would be a pain to catch up on everything. But at least she carried with her the thought that she could start anew from that morning, provided that Sebastian and his subordinate
