My wolf is fighting me for control as I race into the forest but I know better than to hand over the reins to her. If I do, she’ll inevitably run back to Jaxon and surrender to his Alpha aura to tell him what’s wrong. Such a devoted and weak wolf she is. I can’t let her do that, I refuse to let her win this time. Goddamn mate bond controls every fibre of me and for once it feels good to break the shackles gripped so tightly onto me. All of it has become suffocating; the mating, securing an heir, becoming a Luna. My outburst had little to do with Jaxon’s ridiculous control over his sister, although I disagree with that too.

I zig zag through the forest, feeling my feet thunder against the dirt floor, until eventually deciding to bee line diagonally.
