The most gentle amber eyes are staring into my soul, reading my every thought, analyzing my every emotion - making it hard to breathe. I close my eyes tightly and lay my head against Jaxon’s shoulder. My father always used to tell me that the best way to deliver bad news is to rip it off like a band-aid so I take a deep breath and let the words just roll off my tongue. “Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in on me, I know it sounds silly. You’ve been such a great support system, don’t get me wrong Jaxon”, he hums against my ear like he knows I’m procrastinating and waiting for me to spit it out already. “Since the mating ceremony, it’s like all everyone talks about, all everyone wants from me is to produce an heir. I-I just don’t know if I’m ready”, I say as I feel water building behind my eyes. The truth is now I feel like a disappointment as a Luna, this is my duty to the pack and here I am having cold feet about it all.
