I glare up at Beta Don with a puzzled look playing on my face, “but why?”, I question. Beta Don plops down on the leather chair in the corner of the room, shaking his head and rubbing his temple with his hand. “What causes a man to elope from his pack? Leave behind his mate, his family, his pack? Nevertheless, steal all of the classified medical records belonging to Midnight Moon? Addie, I have no bloody idea”, he responds, not bothering to conceal how defeated he truly feels.

The hard expression playing on Beta Don’s face doesn’t go away, instead I notice that it simply becomes more cold, alarmingly detached. I clear my throat, snapping Beta Don’s attention back on me as his eyes shoot back up to meet my gaze. “Doctor Raymond doesn’t strike me as a traitor to his pack.
