I peeled open my eyes and glared at the alarm clock feeling disgruntled that I had barely gotten any sleep last night. My wolf hadn’t given me a moment of peace, causing me to toss and turn all night. He was desperate to return to our mate and hold her close while she slept on our chest. I had known that Adeline was hesitant to become my mate from Sophia’s angry profession earlier but when Adeline let go and allowed her raw emotions to flow freely and the words left her lips, anger and pain struck me.
