Chapter 126

Harper POV

There’s a lot of noise outside the bedroom, thumps, voices, something breaking, but I stay exactly where Theo told me to. He made me promise. Don’t leave this room, no matter what you hear. And even if every nerve in my body wants to know what’s happening, I’m keeping my word. I have a feeling Theo isn't going to kiss my cheek if I disobey this order, not if it puts me in the path of getting hurt. So, while I want to go out there and see what is happening, I won't, because I like my ass, not stinging, red and unable to sit on.

Sighing, I start getting dressed, dragging on my clothes piece by piece, not because I’m in a hurry to leave, but because staying still makes me feel helpless. I open the drawers and start pulling out what little I own, shoving it all into a bag without bothering to fold anything. There’s not much to take, especially not anything I want to keep
