Chapter 127
Harper's POV
I don’t think. I move.
My feet carry me across the room before I even register the sound of them, and my hands reach for Nathan’s face like I need to feel it to believe he’s okay.
“Are you alright, Daddy?” I ask, scanning him for more damage, my voice tight with panic. He got hurt, of course he did, this is my fault, he wouldn't be hurt if it wasn't for me.
He catches my wrists gently, his smile soft but strained. “Perfect, baby girl,” he murmurs, and then his mouth is on mine.
It’s not rushed or rough, it’s grounding. He kisses me like he needs it, like it pulls the air back into his lungs. I melt into him, let myself fall into that familiar warmth as his arms tighten around my waist.
I bite his bottom lip, just enough to make him groan.
