Chapter 171
Nathan's POV
The phone trembles in my lap. I watch as Theo, staggering, reaches for the knife. My chest seizes. I can feel it, the helpless fury tearing through him as he rips the blade free.
He turns, and then it’s chaos.
The camera wobbles, knocked slightly out of focus, but it’s clear enough to see the way Theo slams into Mark. I can’t hear anything, but I don’t need to. I can see it in his body. This isn’t defense anymore. This is rage. He’s not stopping.
I grip the wheel tighter, my knuckles white.
A horn blares to my left. I snap my head up just in time to see my car swerving into the wrong lane. I yank the wheel hard to the right, tires screeching as we jerk onto the shoulder, the other vehicle blasting past us.
