I didn't think going back to school would be this hard.
I stood in front of Professor Mark's class, not knowing how to make my entrance. It didn't help that I was late and he'd already started teaching.
If I went in now, all eyes would be on me. But I also couldn't leave without attending any classes. I didn't take the bus to school for nothing.
Mind made, I took my first step in. The class halted. Professor Mark turned around to see who'd distracted his class, his eyes almost falling out when he saw it was me. I sent him a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I'm late."
I scanned the class, seeing my friends in their normal seats, except this time, there was no space for me. They all wore the same expression on their faces. Disbelief. And I knew I had a lot of explaining to do. I just needed to come up with a good-ass lie.
