Everything in my life was slowly turning back to normal. But I didn’t even care about them because the only thing I desperately needed was for Valerie to give me a second chance.

After I found out the truth about her and Damien, I didn’t make a move immediately. I wanted to wait for the perfect time before confessing my feelings — after putting him behind bars.

Jordan and I worked really hard to make it happen.

But even after everything was over, Valerie was still trying to give me a hard time and I didn’t appreciate it.

I outright told her about how I felt and she responded with just ‘okay’. I wouldn’t lie, it hurt my feelings.

“Are you being serious, Valerie?” I asked, crossing my arms around my chest. “So you don’t feel the same way?”

She hesitated for a while, her eyes darting anywhere but mine.

“Valerie.” I took a step closer and reached out to her hands. It was a good thing that she didn’t pull away. “I k
