Valerie Will POV
“Jesus, Val!” Alexis exclaimed as she stepped into my room. “Don’t tell me that you’ve been living like this for the past two weeks.”
I flinched my eyes as soon as she opened the curtains. The light coming from the window was too bright. I let out a deep sigh as I finally blinked multiple times to adjust to the sunlight.
“Alexis, please close the curtains,” I muttered, my voice hoarse from days of barely speaking. “Please.”
She ignored me, her eyes darting around my scattered room. “Look at the stack of pizza boxes and juice cans.” There was a hint of concern and worry in her voice. “Have you even eaten actual food?”
I shrugged my shoulders, burying half of my face in the pillow.
“Oh my goodness, you need to get out of bed right away.”
I shook my head. “No, I want to stay here,” I responded with a low groan. “What am I leaving my bed for?” I narrowed my eyes on her.
