Valerie Will POV

My hands were clammy with sweat as I drove over to Jamal’s hotel. We already planned to see each other a while back before everything happened.

I thought about canceling it, but what could I possibly use as an excuse? I just decided to let him come and also be honest with him about everything.

The thought of it was scary, but I was tired of living with such a heavy guilt. I had no idea how he would react, but I hoped he would find a way to forgive me.

As I pulled up at the parking lot, I texted him to let him know that I had arrived. In less than five minutes, he met me at the reception and ushered me to his room.

“Hey, I missed you.” He pulled me closer as soon as the door was shut. His lips met mine and he kissed me passionately.

I savored the moment and pulled him closer.
