Patrick Banks POV
The question had knocked the breath out of me.
I blinked. “What?”
The doctor cleared his throat and gestured to the empty chair opposite him. “Have a seat. You need to look at this.”
I sat down and he handed me a file with the test results. I didn’t even know what I was looking at. My mind kept wandering back to his question.
“The test results show that you’re AB, and no child of yours can be O.” He explained when he saw how lost I looked.
I closed my eyes briefly, dragging a hand down my face. “Are you trying to say Noah isn’t my son?” I asked, exhaling sharply.
He nodded. “Yes, sir.”
I opened my mouth to say something but no words came out. I couldn’t even think clearly. All I saw were flashes — Noah’s first birthday, the first time he called me Dad, the way Jessica had pushed for his first name to be Banks. How she swore up and down that he was mine.
