Chapter 29. False Accusations

Elsie's POV

"I know you wanted me out to Albie so I would lose this case."

My ears must be blocked right? What exactly was she saying? I looked at Esme as she stood shamelessly in front of me with her chest all puffed out and steam blowing from her head.

Looking at her, I couldn't believe she had the guts to talk to me even after knowing well that I knew that she was cheating with Daniel. The way she spoke with so much authority left me surprised.

What that what she think happened? That Albie won because of my help. Her reasoning made me laugh out loud, I was amazed by her line of reasoning.

"Why are you laughing? What's so funny?." She asked rudely and aggressively.

This suited her better,  I always found it odd the way she spoke softly and friendly before. It made her look humble in contrast to get appearance and mannerisms.

I think I prefer her like this, real, with no pretense and no mask of faking her
