Chapter 21

Stefani couldn't tear her eyes away from Shaira's message, her mind consumed by the words on her phone. She barely noticed when the car came to a stop and Jacob opened the door for her. It was only when he raised an eyebrow, questioning her silence, that she finally turned her attention towards him. With a smile, she stepped out of the car.

As they walked together, Jacob wrapped his arm around her waist, concern etched on his face. "You look pale. Are you okay? If you're not feeling well, I can take over your work and send you home."

Shaking her head, Stefani reassured him, "I'm fine. I'm just trying to remember everything you've taught me about work."

"I'm glad you're now enjoying working but remember not to push yourself too hard. Take it one step at a time, and you'll learn everything," Jacob advised, his voice filled with encouragement.

Stefani chuckled, but her mind was still preo
