Chapter 5. Betrayal

Kane sat alone on the rooftop, deep in thought. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. There was no reason behind Logan poisoning Sophie's mind about him.

There had to have been something else. He knew Logan was loyal to him, but even he wouldn't do anything to hurt him or Sophie. Kane hadn't figured out what had happened, but he made a decision.

It was getting late at night, and the moon was high and full in the sky. Kane knew that this was the perfect time to summon the moon goddess.

It was she who fated him and Sophie to become mates, and he needed her help in understanding what had gone wrong with Logan.

He stood up, centering his energy and focusing his thoughts. In a low voice, he began to chant, calling forth the moon goddess.
