Chapter 72. True Mate

Edwina hugged Kalen back, tightly pulling the latter in her embrace.

" Edwina, he left..." Kalen said in an almost sobbing tone. Edwina thought that Kalen had meant that her father had left, and although he was confused as to why Kalen would react like this, she said,

" No, you don't understand... Vista left" Kalen shook her head as she said, almost tearing up.

Edwina was first taken aback at Kalen's words before she frowned and asked,

" Did he say why?" Vista had just been in the academy the night before. It didn't make sense that he just left the academy like that. There had to be a tangible reason behind this, and Kalen being his favorite person would have been informed of this.

" He said he had family matters to tend to in the note he left" Kalen broke from the hug to say with lowered gaze as if she was still baffled as to what Vista had meant by that.
