Chapter 7. Pain and Suffering
As her life turned better, she no longer know if that night was a curse or a blessing. A curse because she got pregnant early, and a blessing because she got to know the Thompson cousins. They became a good part of her life. She felt like having them around was enough to make her feel alive in the middle of everything.
After the night she spent taking care of Brent, she noticed that he became warm to her, and unlike in the past weeks, he often showed up in front of her in the most bizarre moments.
She was in the school cafeteria, eating while scanning her notes when all of the sudden, Brent stood next to her and put a can of juice next to the clubhouse sandwich she bought.
Her eyes went to him as soon as his eyes met hers, she gazed away and Allison felt the throbbing of her heart.
"Thank you," she muttered lowly.
