Chapter 158
Nathan’s POV
We crouched along the upper balcony, overlooking the inner courtyard of the Rogue King’s castle.
Below us, thousands of rogues packed the stone arena shoulder to shoulder beneath the Blood Moon. The entire courtyard glowed a deep, ominous red.
At our feet lay three rogue bodies, their necks twisted at unnatural angles. No noise. Total precision.
Marcus and Liam leaned over the balcony rail, staring down at the ritual circle.
“Well,” Liam muttered, a low whistle escaping his teeth. “Emily definitely understood the assignment.”
I shot him a lethal glare. “Watch it.”
Liam smirked, not even bothering to look away from the crowd. “What? I’m complimenting her.”
“You’re talking about your Luna.”
“Relax, Alpha.” Liam raised both hands in a mock surrender. “I am highly invested in keeping my head attached to my neck.”
Marcus ignored our bickering, his sharp eyes scanning the sea of enemies below.
