“Uhm, Bane decided that for the good of the pack, it’s best if she and I don’t spend any time together for now.”
“Why? It’s not like you both would tear each other apart, or would you?”
“You don’t know that.”

“Of course I don’t, that’s why I asked.”
“Anyways, that’s enough on that topic.” He shrugged off the conversation with a gentle wave of his right hand. “Tell me everything that happened before you found the body.”
“Okay. Well, Jessa and I were on our way to the school picnic—”
“Picnic? What picnic?”
“You didn’t know? There was a compulsory picnic for our class this evening. Speaking of which, I ended up not going.”
“I didn’t hear about any picnics, so I don’t think it was as compulsory as you make it out to be. Who told you about this picnic?”
“It was Petyr. He said Miss Shapen attached part of our CA scores to our attendance so I had to come.”
He looked even more confused now
