Chapter 18. Handling the Truth

Maeve smiled. “You’re so cute, trying to protect me and all. But I’m not so little anymore, you know. And I understand that all actions have consequences, and since falling in love with Bleidd happened completely on my own volition, then I am prepared to face whatever might come as a result of that action.”

She gave up. “If you’re so adamant about this, then I guess there’s nothing I can say anymore. Make sure you keep my sister happy, Bleidd. Else you wouldn’t like what I’d do to you in return.”

Bleidd smiled. “You don’t need to worry about that, Natasha. I live to make her happy now, and I don’t need to be told that her sister would be furious if I did anything in the contrary.”

Natasha smiled and gave the lovers some privacy by heading indoors.
