I didn’t think today would go this smoothly. I thought it’d be a hassle, sneaking those brats away long enough to get their DNA samples. But fate, sweet fate, gave me a perfect setup. Isabel, in all her clueless glory, practically handed them to me on a silver platter when she brought them to the ice cream parlor.
I chuckle, leaning back in the velvet chair, swirling the wine in my glass as I replay the scene. “Now that I’ve gotten their samples sent to the lab,” I murmur, sipping slowly, “it won’t be long before I know the truth.
