Victoria’s POV

Dominic didn’t hesitate. As Ethan’s sharp gaze lingered on us, Dominic’s arm remained firm around my waist. His composure was effortless, his expression calm yet purposeful.

“This isn’t what it looks like,” Dominic began smoothly, his voice steady and controlled. “I’d like you to meet my new secretary.”

My breath caught in my throat. Secretary? The word hung in the air like a challenge. I stiffened under his arm, unsure whether to play along or push him away. My body was literally trembling now.

Ethan raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical but unreadable. “Your new secretary?” His tone was measured, each word deliberate.

“That’s right,” Dominic confirmed, his arm tightening ever so slightly around my waist, as if silently urging me to follow his lead. “Victoria has been assisting me with a few...sensitive matters. I trust her judgment implicitly.”
