Chapter 115
Megan's POV
I stand up, my legs shaking slightly as the officer leads me out of the cell. The cold metal cuffs are slapped back on my wrists, and I am escorted down the gray hallway.
The fluorescent lights overhead flicker, casting a glow on the scene.
We enter a small, windowless room, with a metal table in the center. The detective is already seated, a stack of files in front of him. He gestures for me to sit, his expression unreadable.
I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart.
"I didn't do it," I say, my voice firm but shaking slightly.
The detective raises an eyebrow.
"Let us start with what happened the night of Kayla's murder. You were at the scene, right?" He asked me.
