Lily's POV

I took a deep breath and nodded my head in agreement.

"Okay, Sarah." I said.

" I will work with you." I said, trying to sound confident.

Sarah's eyes lit up in relief and determination.

 "Thank you, Lily. I promise you; we can get through this together." Sarah said as she patted me.

But a part of me was finding it hard to work with Sarah.

"But she was once a police officer!" I thought as I stole a glance at her.

I hesitated for a moment, still unsure if I was making the right decision.

 But something about Sarah's words resonated with me.

Maybe it was her sincerity, or maybe it was the desperation in her eyes. Whatever it was, I knew I had to trust her.

"Okay," I repeated, my voice firmer this time.

 "Let's do this." I told her.

Sarah smiled, a small smile, but one that conveyed a sense of hope.
