I was quite lucky I got to the office early before it was cleaned out. That way, I was able to retrieve the coffee cup that Sandra had brought me.

I had earlier called my friend who works with the police in forensics to report the incident, and he asked me to bring over the sample.

I drove down to their lab immediately, and on getting there, he was already outside waiting for me. Not anyone is allowed into their lab unless you are with someone from their team.

“Hey, man, good to see you,” he said as we both shook hands.

“It has been a while, Cole, what have you been up to?” I asked as we both made our way inside.

“Nothing much, managing work and also having to create time for the family can be a bit exhausting, you know,” he said.

“But it’s worth it when you spend your life with the right person, I guess,” I replied.
