The Woman He Hates

On the way to the sangeet ceremony inside the car, Amaya apologized to Rohit for using his father as an example last night.

Rohit responded, “You don’t need to apologize. You were right. You only said the truth.”

Amaya was shocked that Rohit didn’t get angry with her. She thought to herself that Rohit must love his mother more than his father because, at any mention of his mother’s name, he would always get mad.

“Do you know the woman your father cheated on your mother with?” Amaya asked hesitantly.

Rohit’s expression darkened. “Who told you about my family?”

“Pooja told me,” Amaya replied carefully.

Rohit sighed. “I don’t know the woman my father cheated with, but if I ever find her, I’ll make sure she faces the same fate as my mother.”

His voice was cold, filled with suppressed anger. Amaya could sense his pain. Rohit continued, “I can’t let it slide like that. This is why I can’t stand my father or even be in the
