A Plea for Forgiveness
Vedika told her mother, “I didn’t sleep with my brother-in-law intentionally. It was a mistake, and I know I did a bad thing by falling in love with him. But it wasn’t my fault, and I’m sorry.”
She paused, her voice trembling. “There’s no point in trying to justify what I did. I need your forgiveness. I know what I did was wrong, and I can’t pretend otherwise. I didn’t even want you to hear this story, but now that you have, I just want you to forgive me.”
Vedika’s mother looked at her with cold eyes and asked, “Who is Samir’s father?”
Vedika froze, unprepared for the question. She hadn’t expected her mother to dig so deeply after all this time. Why was her mother bringing this up now?
